Why this exists
Every deals site we ever bookmarked ended up in the same place: endless listicles, expired coupons, and whatever paid the most that week. The offer at the top wasn't the best one. It was the one with the biggest commission.
So the promise here is narrower and, we think, more useful. Cheap is not the point. Something can be the lowest price on the internet and still be the wrong thing to buy — flimsy, badly sized, a nightmare to return. What we care about is whether it's worth your money at the price it costs.
That means the list stays short. If nothing in a category clears the bar this month, that category stays thin. We'd rather show you four things worth considering than forty you have to sift.
The three kinds of deal
Not everything here is an affiliate link — and pretending otherwise would be the easiest way to lose your trust. There are three ways a deal ends up on this site, and every card and every offer page tells you which one you're looking at.
We picked it, and we earn a commission
We chose it on merit, and if you buy through our link the merchant pays us a small commission. You pay exactly the same either way. This is what funds the site.
We picked it, and we earn nothing
No affiliate link, no payment, no relationship with the seller. It's here because it's good and we wanted to tell you about it. Plenty of the best things we find pay nothing at all — that shouldn't disqualify them.
The business paid for the placement
A business bought the slot. That buys visibility and nothing else: the offer is still checked, the terms still have to be honest, and it's never dressed up as one of our picks. It says Sponsored ad, plainly, on the card.
How we pick
Every listing clears the same checklist before it gets a page — sponsored ones included:
- Would we recommend it to a friend? If the honest answer is no, it doesn't go up.
- Is the offer real? Live link, current price, terms that say what they mean.
- Does the price make sense for what it is? Not the lowest — the right one.
- Is the seller findable? A real business with a real returns policy.
- Is it in the right category? Category stuffing crowds out honest listings, so we remove it.
Links are re-checked as they age, and anything whose link has expired drops off the site automatically rather than sitting there wasting your click.
How the site makes money
Two ways, both of them on the page: affiliate commissions when you buy something we linked, and paid placements when a business buys a slot. Editor's picks make us nothing, and we run them anyway.
Neither one buys an opinion. Commission rates aren't a ranking factor, and a sponsored slot gets a label rather than a nicer paragraph. If we wouldn't recommend it for free, we don't recommend it for a fee. The details are in our affiliate disclosure and FTC disclosure.
Advertise with us
If you sell something families actually use, a slot here puts you in front of people already looking to buy — on a page with a handful of options rather than four hundred. Here's how it works.
- Why advertise here rather than run more ads?
- Because the audience arrived on purpose. Nobody lands on a curated shortlist by accident — they're mid-decision. And because your card sits among a small number of options instead of competing with an infinite feed.
- What does a sponsored slot actually get me?
- Top of your category, for your whole term. Not rotated, not shared, not shuffled by an algorithm. Your card sits first in every category you chose, with a Sponsored ad label, plus a full offer page of its own that search engines can index.
- How is the top spot allocated?
- First come, first served — and it's genuinely held. One business owns the top of a category for the length of its term. Nobody can outbid you into second place halfway through, because we don't run an auction.
- What happens when a term ends?
- The slot passes to the next business waiting for that category. If you want to keep it, you renew before your term is up — we email you in advance so it isn't a surprise. Let it lapse and the spot is someone else's.
- Is this a subscription?
- No. You pay once for a fixed term — six months or a year — and that's the end of the transaction. No auto-renew, no card kept on file quietly charging you. When the term is nearly up we email you and you decide.
- Which categories are open?
- It varies, because a held slot is a held slot. Ask us and we'll tell you what's free, what's taken, and when the taken ones come up. Popular categories are worth booking ahead of time.
- What won't you run?
- Anything we couldn't put in front of our own families: misleading discount maths, missing terms, health or financial claims we can't verify, or a product in a category it doesn't belong to. We'll tell you exactly why and let you resubmit for free.
- Can I see how it's performing?
- Yes. Your dashboard shows views and clicks for your listing, updated daily, alongside your term countdown and payment history.
Who's behind it
I'm Sonia — founder, curator, writer, photo-cropper, support inbox and occasional debugger. There's no team and no marketing department. If you email, I'm the one who replies.
This started as a private list of things worth telling friends about, kept in a notes app and shared far too often. The site is that list, made public and held to a checklist.
