Our commitment
Live Well Offers is committed to providing a digital experience that conforms to the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2 at Level AA. We treat conformance as a floor, not a ceiling — many things on the site go beyond it.
We re-audit the site against WCAG quarterly, after every significant feature change, and after any reader-reported barrier we cannot reproduce internally.
What we have built
Keyboard and pointer
- Every interactive element is reachable and operable with a keyboard alone. Focus order follows reading order.
- A skip-link to the main content appears on first Tab.
- Focus indicators meet WCAG 2.4.7 (3:1 contrast minimum, never relying on color alone).
- Touch targets are 44×44 CSS pixels or larger.
Screen readers and semantics
- Pages use a logical heading hierarchy and ARIA landmarks (nav, main, footer, complementary).
- Every image carries descriptive alt text, or is marked decorative when appropriate.
- Form fields have programmatically associated labels and error messages.
- Live region updates are announced with appropriate politeness.
Color, motion, and reading
- Body text meets 4.5:1 contrast; large text meets 3:1.
- We honor
prefers-reduced-motion: parallax, autoplay, and large transitions are suppressed. - We do not use color alone to convey meaning.
- The site renders in user-set zoom up to 400% without horizontal scrolling on a 320px viewport.
What we test against
We test on every release with:
- Screen readers: NVDA (Windows), JAWS (Windows), VoiceOver (macOS/iOS), TalkBack (Android).
- Browsers: Latest two versions of Chrome, Firefox, Safari, and Edge.
- Inputs: Keyboard only, switch control, voice control (Dragon, macOS Voice Control), and touch.
- Automated tools: axe-core, Lighthouse, WAVE, and Pa11y as a sanity check — but never as a substitute for human testing.
Known gaps we are working on
Conformance is an ongoing effort. As of this version, we are aware of:
- A small number of merchant-supplied product images lack alt text in their source feed. We are filling these in manually and updating ingestion.
- Our category-filter checkboxes don’t announce the result count change to all screen readers. Fix scheduled for Q3 2026.
- The cookie banner does not yet support keyboard-only dismissal on the very first paint. Workaround: pressing Tab three times moves focus into the banner.
We publish a longer in-progress audit list and conformance roadmap quarterly.
